Competition Objective

The objective of the "2024 Taiwan Pride Games" is to promote sports exchange among the LGBT communities in Taiwan and across Asia, furthering the values of gender and sexual orientation equality, and advocating for a healthy sports culture to enhance the physical and mental well-being of participants. Through this platform, we aim to foster respect and understanding for gender and sexual orientation diversity, break stereotypes and discrimination, and establish an inclusive, equitable social environment. Additionally, this sports event serves as an opportunity to showcase the strength and vitality of the LGBT community in the field of sports, encouraging more people to participate in sports, enjoy the pleasure of sports, and cultivate a healthy, positive lifestyle attitude.

June 29, 2024 (Saturday) to June 30, 2024 (Sunday)

Competition Venues

National Taiwan Normal University (Main Campus), (Gongguan Campus), Taipei Youth Park Outdoor Swimming Pool (199 Shuiyuan Road, Wanhua District, Taipei City).

Eligibility

Participants from LGBTQ+ communities or individuals supportive of LGBTQ+ and gender equality, both domestically and internationally, are eligible to participate.

There is no age limit.

Participants under the age of 18 must obtain consent from a legal guardian, and those under 12 must be accompanied by a parent. Please download the parental consent from the website's sports regulations page and return it to the organizing committee's email address gaygames.tw@gmail.com. Married minors are not subject to this requirement.

Registration Procedure

1. Registration Period: From now until June 10, 2024, 23:59 (GMT+8). Late registrations will not be accepted.

2. Registration Method: All registrations must be completed online at https://gaysports.oen.tw/

l Competition regulations, schedules, related information, and results will be available on the association's website.

l Registration is complete upon payment. Registrations without payment or those received after the deadline will not be accepted.

l Payment is to be made online via credit card or convenience store.

l After making the payment, please add the association's LINE ID: TGSMA2018 or click here to inquire about registration results.

l In order to maintain the quality of the competition, registration may be closed when capacity is reached. We apologize for any inconvenience.

l Participants who fail to complete the payment procedure by the deadline will have their registration automatically canceled by the system, and no appeals will be accepted.

Registration Fees

1.       Early Bird Discount Code "TPG2024" for a NT$200 discount.

2.       NT$1,500 per person (approximately $48 USD).

3.       Students: NT$1,350 (with valid student ID, applicable to all universities).

4.       Members: NT$1,000 (applicable to members, associate members, and honorary members of the Taiwan LGBT Sports Development Association).

5.       Spectator tickets: NT$600 (optional add-ons include the Player's Night for NT$500 and the Together Hiking event for NT$1,000).

※ The registration fee includes: opening ceremony, sports competitions, fun competitions, closing ceremony, commemorative badges, one sports attire, and event souvenirs.

※ Spectator tickets include: tickets to all events, fun competitions, closing ceremony, and event souvenirs.

※ Additional information about purchasing the Player's Night and Together Hiking events will be announced on the registration website.

Discount Codes:

Early Bird Discount Code "TPG2024" provides a NT$200 discount until May 19.

Participants of the "2022 Taipei Asia LGBT Sports Games" receive a NT$300 discount by entering "APG300".

Participants of the "2023 Badminton Pride Cup" receive a NT$300 discount by entering "BPC300".

※ The organizer will verify the discount codes, and false claims will result in retroactive payment.

Player's Night - includes beverages (Bai Ci Club) for NT$300 (original price NT$680).

Together Hiking event for NT$1,000 (original price NT$1,680).

Notes (Please read carefully)

1. Participants must verify their identities with the organizing committee before competing. Only those with verified identities are allowed to participate. Any discrepancies during the competition can be reported and re-verified. Complaints regarding athlete identities will not be entertained after the competition.

2. In the event of disputes during the competition, the on-site chief referee's interpretation will be final and binding, with no room for appeal.

3. If eligibility criteria are not met or if a proxy plays, the qualification for that game will be immediately revoked, and forfeiture will be declared.

4. If there is insufficient space at the designated venue, the organizing committee reserves the right to select alternative venues for the competition.

5. Participants must complete registration procedures 30 minutes before the start of the game. If a participant (or team) fails to appear within 5 minutes after the scheduled start time, they will be deemed to have forfeited. The timing will be based on the referee's stopwatch, and no objections will be entertained.

6. If there are schedule changes, participants must follow announcements from the organizing committee. In case of special circumstances, participants may compete according to the updated schedule without being declared forfeited. However, if a delay occurs, any participant who fails to arrive within 5 minutes after the announcement will be declared forfeited, with no room for appeal.

7. If unable to participate in the competition due to unforeseen circumstances after payment, refunds can be requested before the registration deadline, subject to a 10% administrative fee deduction. If the registration deadline has passed, and the registration fee has already been used for insurance and other necessary expenses, refunds will not be issued.

8. In case of cancellation of the event due to disasters, a full refund will be provided.

9. The results of this competition will serve as the basis for selecting members of the Taiwan team for international LGBT sports events and subsequent related LGBT sports activities.

10. The organizing committee reserves the right to terminate all subsequent participation of athletes and their relatives who violate the spirit of sportsmanship, insult referees, or disrupt the progress of the competition.

11. According to the regulations of the Sports Administration, athletes are insured for personal injury with coverage of more than 3 million NT dollars (including death, disability, and medical expenses). Athletes may choose to purchase additional insurance for personal consideration.
